As I began to explore how design could be used to bring different groups of people together, I developed this interactive piece that created ridiculous pairings of words from two disparate groups of people. I tested this with Iowa State University design and agriculture students because historical animosity exists between those groups.
The language used in the mockumentary video is derived from data about stereotypes I received from a survey of design and agriculture students. Both sets of students came together to view this and a positive experience came from the interaction; however, a one-point, on-screen interaction did not forge as big of a connection between these groups as I hoped.
