My husband and I had the opportunity to print our own letterpress wedding invitations with Jim from Ackley Publishing. We spent an entire Saturday picking out hot and cold type, mixing ink, and running the presses. This experience was so memorable and fun—and perfect for a graphic designer and engineer couple. We didn’t have a design picked out when we got there and the experience led us to the final invitation design in an unexpected way.
I designed and printed additional coordinating materials, which I printed on my laser printer at home.
Here are a couple of shots from the process, and a few videos of us working with Jim at Ackley Publishing with his amazing collection of letterpress equipment and typography.
